THREE Finnish former Morton favourites have applied for the vacant manager’s position at the Cappielow club, the Tele understands.
It is believed that Janne Lindberg, Marko Rajamaki, and Jani Uotinen have all made separate bids to replace axed boss Allan Moore.
When contacted by the Tele, current TPS Turku chief Rajamaki, pictured, recently refused to rule himself out of the running and expressed an interest in returning to Greenock one day.
And it appears that his former Ton and Finland international team-mate Lindberg has also thrown his hat in the ring.
The 47-year-old, who won 34 caps, is currently head coach at Finnish fourth tier side Sudet but also gained top flight experience as manager of VPS and more recently MyPa.
Uotinen, meanwhile, spent two seasons with the Ton between 2002 and 2004 following a recommendation from Lindberg and picked up a Third Division winners’ medal in season 2002-03.
The midfielder, now 35, left Cappielow after falling out of favour under John McCormack and returned home to MyPa. He went on to play with VPS, for whom he currently coaches at youth level.
