CELTIC boss Neil Lennon says he was keen to see teenage defender Stuart Findlay go out on loan and gain some invaluable first-team experience at Morton.

The Scotland Under-21 internationalist will spend the final four months of the current campaign involved in Ton’s scrap to avoid relegation to League One.

Centre-half Findlay made an impressive debut in Ton’s 1-1 draw away at league leaders Falkirk on Saturday.

And his Parkead boss Lennon, pictured, believes the spell in Greenock is the perfect opportunity for the 18-year-old to learn his trade.

Lennon said: “A few of the young lads are out on loan. "We’ve sent Bahrudin Atajic to Shrewsbury and Stuart Findlay to Morton recently.

“We want them to go out, do well and get a bit of first-team football. They’re out there gaining experience, which is important for their development.”
