DOUGLAS Rae has revealed that Morton will pay Rangers a weekly fee for the duration of Robbie Crawford’s loan deal.
The Gers midfielder, pictured, joined the Ton until January on transfer deadline day and made his debut in last Saturday’s Petrofac Cup quarter-final against Alloa Athletic.
Chairman Mr Rae was delighted to see the Gourock resident sign with his local club and explained the financial commitment required to bring a loan player to Cappielow.
He told the Tele: “Robbie played for the Rangers first-team on quite a number of occasions last season.
“But he hasn’t been playing every week recently. “We said we would be pleased to give him the opportunity to play.
“It’s a commitment to bring someone like Robbie to Morton on loan. You don’t get them for nothing — I wish you did! You have to agree a payment, the going rate. It’s a weekly fee that’s negotiated; not an agreed percentage of his wages.
“Robbie will be with us for at least four months and we believe he will be a good signing.”
