ROBBIE Crawford insists Morton are not preoccupied by their poor away form and head to East End Park believing they can take three points from Dunfermline today.

The midfielder admits the Cappielow club can learn from losing four of their first five fixtures on the road but is also adamant they should not read into that run of results for extra meaning.

And he reckons this afternoon’s match in Fife presents them with the perfect opportunity to prove that, by performing to their full potential and picking up a positive result against the Pars.

Crawford told the Tele: “Obviously last week wasn’t what we were looking for. We matched them [Ayr United] well enough so we were frustrated not to get the equaliser.

“It was one of those days that it wasn’t really happening for us.

“We did manage to create some chances in the second half but couldn’t score.

“They were experienced and hard to break down, but we need to look at ourselves and see what we could have done better.

“We can improve on recent results. We know that when we’re on our game we are a tough test for anyone.

“That’s what we’ve got to keep believing, and if we do, I’m sure the results will come.

“We need to start putting it right today. Obviously Dunfermline are the other full-time team in the league, so it’s going to be a test for us.

“This would appear to be our most difficult fixture in League One on paper, but it’s never easy travelling anywhere; we’ve struggled against teams that are lower in the table.

“It’s going to be difficult in any league when the teams that we’re playing against know we’re full-time. They’re putting in a lot of effort against us.

“But we shouldn’t read too much into our away record. We know we can play well on our day and need to work hard to turn that into better results on the road.

“We can’t dwell on those away defeats. You have to learn from them but also put them out of our minds today.

“We know that if we play well, we can beat Dunfermline.

“We’ve done it previously. We’ll need to work hard, keep positive, and I’m sure we can get a result.

“I think our last match with them was out best performance of the season. We put in a lot of effort, played well as a team and created a lot. We definitely deserved the win — but we’re not just going to rest on that. Hopefully we can do the same today.

“Would a draw be a good result? We don’t take anything for granted but we go into every match looking for the three points. We’re focused on getting the win today.”
