LEE Kilday says he will have to step up and start contributing to the carpool patter now he has passed his driving test.

Since joining Morton, the defender has been getting a lift into training each day as part of a group that includes Ricki Lamie, Derek Gaston, Stefan Milojevic, and Declan McManus.

In an interview with the Tele, Lamie slaughtered his fellow full-back for spending the daily commute to Parklea ‘on mute’ and sleeping instead of attempting to join in the banter.

But after gaining his licence on Monday, Kilday says his days of staying silent as he catches 40 winks will be consigned to the past.

The 22-year-old said: “That’s me passed my test. It’s been a long time coming. It was actually my third attempt.

“There’s me Gats, Deccy, Ricki and big Stefan who travel in together, so I’ll take a turn of driving through now.

“The patter in the car has got a wee bit better since Ricki was speaking about it. Ricki’s funny to be fair and big Gats is still trying.

“I still like to take a wee nap on the way home — but I’ll not be able to do that on the day it’s my shot to drive!”
