CONOR Pepper says Morton’s midfielders have taken a real sense of satisfaction from the club’s run of four successive clean sheets.

The industrious Irishman and Thomas O’Ware have both played in all four matches and received praise from manager Jim Duffy for their Herculean efforts in front of the back four.

Pepper was chuffed to read his manager’s comments in the Tele and says the shutouts are something the team takes pride in.

He said: “I think the manager singled me and Tam out saying that we are doing well and that was nice obviously. We’re enjoying playing together.

“I’m one of those people who enjoy working hard and stuff like that, and I think clean sheets are something Tam and me are looking to keep as well.

“But everybody takes a lot from the clean sheets, from Andy [Barrowman] and Dec [McManus] right at the front.

“Dec’s got good legs and Barra has a lot of experience, knowing where to go and which centre-half to lean on, so it’s a real team effort.”
