Tonight’s Cappielow clash against Dunfermline Athletic will be screened live on specialist Gaelic language channel BBC Alba.

It is the first time the Ton have received TV exposure in five years, going back to a 1-0 loss to Partick Thistle at Firhill on Friday 4 January 2010.

And Ton boss Duffy is backing his players to make the most of a rare opportunity to star in front of the cameras by claiming three important points in the title race.

He told the Tele: “It’s a big match in the terms that is it two clubs who have high expectations — aspirations of getting to the Championship — playing each other. It’s good to have a high profile match. The players will be fired up for it and should be a good atmosphere.

“The game is being shown live on BBC Alba, who I did a couple of games for earlier on in the season, working at Rangers versus Clyde and another cup game.

“It’s great to have them put that spotlight on League One, and I’m sure it will be a good game for them as well. It’ll show that the quality of football in this division is decent and the games are all extremely difficult.

“It will also act as an incentive for all the players involved, not just the Morton players but the Dunfermline players as well. If you want to perform and you want to show people you can play, TV gives you an ideal way of doing that. If you can do well then people will talk positively about you.

“It’s being played at a time when it will be spotlighted. But if you’re a footballer at all, you should want to be in these types of high profile games.

“There’s not many of our boys who’ll have played in front of the cameras before, although you do have cameras at every game with YouTube highlights and so on.

“Therefore, I really don’t think any of our boys will get too uptight about it, but if it’s their first time you never know. But once the game starts you can’t think about these things. You have to concentrate fully on the task at hand, the 90 minutes of football, and make sure you play to your capabilities.” Ton could open up an eight point gap between themselves and the Pars with a victory, but Duffy says he is only looking at closing in on leaders Stranraer.

He added: “It’s not about us and Dunfermline at this moment in time. It’s about narrowing, or maintaining depending on other results, the gap to Stranraer.

“That’s all you can do. I don’t look at the distance between us and Dunfermline because that’s not the title race.

“Stranraer are in charge and Forfar are up there as well, so it’s not about two teams — but it’s about two teams in tonight’s game and it’s a game for us to go and try and build a bit of momentum. The way to do that is to go and get three points."
