Measured midfielder Forbes kept his cool to bend the ball past David Hutton in the second minute of stoppage time and help Morton claim a massive three points.

Manager Duffy was impressed with the former Motherwell man’s poise as he elected to place the ball into the far corner rather than panic and pick the wrong option.

He told the Tele: “The second goal was a fantastic goal, because it would have been easy then to just lump the ball into the box.

“But Ross is a footballer and he gives you that. He threatened it with a couple of runs in the first half, and to have the composure to do what he did when you’re shattered is terrific.

“To have the legs to go on a little meandering run and still have the composure to finish like that in the dying seconds was terrific.

“He could have lashed at it or just taken a touch and chipped it into the box and hoped for the best, but he saw the wee bit of space and had the awareness. I thought Ross was tremendous. He has been terrific for us and I was delighted again with his performance on Saturday.

“Him and Michael Miller both, because they were two against three in the middle of the pitch. They covered a lot of ground.”
