Prior to last week’s win at Stirling, Ton team-mates Derek Gaston and Stefan McCluskey asked for the club’s fans to get fully behind the side in their final three fixtures.
McManus, who scored his 20th goal of the season against the Binos, praised the passionate backing they got at Forthbank and said it can make all the difference in matches.
He told the Tele: “I wouldn’t say the boys were getting on at the fans or anything, they were just asking for a wee bit more help.
“Because it does help when the fans are like last Saturday at Stirling. It helped us a lot and always does.
“It’s like a 12th man. It’s a cliché but it’s true for players. It helps us to push on and gives you that wee bit more energy when the fans are behind us.”
