Blues hitmen Jamie Longworth and Craig Malcolm have shared 27 goals between them in all competitions this term.
Former Ton midfielder Aitken reckons they are the League One’s most effective pairing and is looking for them to continue their form in today’s crunch clash.
He said: “They are a great strikeforce, Craig Malcolm and Jamie Longworth. I’ve said collectively I think they are the best in the division.
“Declan McManus at Morton has done great for them and you’ve got Gavin Swankie at Forfar, but I think collectively the two of them, Malcolm and Longworth, have got a great understanding.
“They’re pals away from the park as well which obviously helps and they’ve been a big part of what we’ve done over the last couple of years, so hopefully they can cause Morton a few problems.” But Aitken, 38, reckons his former club are favourites for the match due to their status as a full-time club.
He said: “I think Morton are the favourites. If you look at the two clubs, Morton being full-time for me is a big factor. There’s a big, big difference. “They’ll be resting up before the game and they’ll be able to train all week, and they’ll bring a big support down, but we’ve been underdogs for most of the season so it’s not going to affect us.”
