The 23-year-old netted Ton’s first goal of the campaign with a seasoned striker’s finish when he hooked the ball over his own shoulder beyond Dumbarton’s Mark Brown.
Ricki Lamie has dubbed his fellow defender ‘Benzema’, saying the finish reminded him of one scored by Real Madrid and France frontman Karim Benzema.
Although Kilday isn’t normally known for his prowess in the opposition box, he has now set himself a target of five for the campaign after finding the net three times in League One last term.
He told the Tele: “I was up in the box because it was right after a set-piece. Peaso [Peter MacDonald] was going to flick it, but I shouted ‘through ye’, got my leg up and thankfully it went in.
“Am I calling it an overhead kick? No, hooked over the shoulder I think.
“I got three goals last year and said to the boys I’m aiming for five this year. It’s a bit ambitious but we’ll see what happens.”
