Ton saw their seven-game unbeaten run ended in emphatic fashion by league-leading Gers in Sunday’s meeting at Cappielow.

But defender O’Ware is adamant this group of players will not allow the 4-0 loss to knock them off their stride after a strong start to the season.

He told the Tele: “I know we were playing Rangers, but I think we could have maybe given a better account of ourselves. We were just a wee bit disappointed with how we played.

“There was a bit of expectation with us not having lost since the Hibs game and beating Motherwell after extra-time in midweek, but it just never happened for us on the day.

“We didn’t reach the standards we’re capable of, a lot of people underperformed and we just didn’t play well as a team.

“But we know we played a team far better than us — it’s not the Rangers of last year — so whatever you take from the games against them is a bonus: you don’t rely on them for points.

“So we can’t let it affect us.

“We just need to look at it as an experience playing against a team like that and move on. It’s done with.

“We just need to get back on track, get the Rangers game out of our system and move on with our season.

“No one is getting down about the Rangers game and I don’t see it being a problem getting back to the level we were at before it.” Jim Duffy’s side complete the first quarter of the season at Stark’s Park on Saturday and O’Ware believes the fixture sees them compete on an even playing field by comparison to last weekend.

He added: “Against Raith Rovers it will be a much more even contest and we can get back to defending and playing the way we did the game before against Motherwell.

“This is our last game of the [first] quarter and it will be a hard one.

“They are a solid, steady team who have won a couple of games 1-0.

“I watched them against St Mirren [live on BBC Alba] and they shape up similar to us in a 4-4-2.

“We’ll not be going there fearing them, we’ll be going aiming for the three points.”
