The 2014 junior section annual prizegiving brought to a close a successful season at Greenock Whinhill Golf Club.

Membership numbers are at a decent level and the club are continuing to keep young people occupied, and off of the streets of Inverclyde.

Many of the members, as well as enjoying the junior programme, have massive potential to eventually be very good golfers.

All competitions, events, outings and trips were excellently attended.

Many notable individual achievements were made throughout the course of the season but the main success was the enthusiasm and progression of the vast majority of younger golfers within the junior section.

Whinhill Golf Club junior section would like to thank all staff, members, sponsors, greenkeepers and supporters for their contribution to the 2014 season.

The first Whinhill Golf Club junior section coaching session of the 2015 season will be held on Thursday 2 April from 6.30 to 8.30pm.

New members (any interested boys or girls between the ages of six and 16) will be made more than welcome at the coaching sessions which will be held every Thursday night right through the summer to the end of September (equipment can be provided).

For further information call 01475 724694 at the weekends and ask to speak to a member of the junior section committee.
