GREENOCK golfer Chris Doak had to fight a rearguard action as he posted an opening 74 at the French Open in Paris yesterday.
Teeing off at the 10th, the 37-year-old was quickly chasing his tail due to bogeys at the 11th and 12th before recording a much-needed birdie two holes later.
An ugly seven on 15 cost Chris three dropped shots then another one slipped away at the next.
A much better performance after the turn included three birdies as Doak repaired some of the damage. He is sitting at three over par going into today’s second round.
