AHOY THERE: One of the Royal West's coastal fours at the slip.

THE Royal West of Scotland Amateur Boat Club are holding an Open Day on Saturday 13 March at 2pm.

Anyone interested in joining the club will be made most welcome and will be able to book taster sessions in the variety of water sports in which this friendly club participate - kayaks, rowing and sailing.

And there will be an opportunity for everyone to win an autographed t-shirt by britain's finest woman rower, Katherine Grainge, MBE. Glasgow-born Katherine, a silver medallist at the Beijing Olympics, has won two further Olympic silvers plus four World Championship golds, two silvers and one bronze.

There will also be a jumble sale for club funds.

Entry is free and there will be refreshments.
