Newton Stewart 0 Greenock Wanderers 18 IT has been a long time coming, but Greenock Wanderers were finally able to celebrate an away day victory on the coach home to Inverclyde.
Dave McVey"s men have endured a torrid time on their travels, waiting well over a year for their first success outside Fort Matilda.
And as icing on an already appetising cake, Wanderers also shut out their opponents at Bladnoch Park on Saturday.
Wanderers began the match with an unorthodox back division, Andy McDougall filling in on the wing after Leigh Tyley was forced to withdraw.
The opening exchanges were evenly matched, as a quick, young Wanderers side looked for the a chink in the armour of their physical opponents.
