GREENOCK Wanderers players enjoyed a weekend off on Saturday, but committee men, vice president John McDougall and fixture secretary Stuart Clark were hard at work confirming the forthcoming fixture list for the remainder of the season.

With the disruption to fixtures caused by the Six Nations and current inclement weather, the SRU have been in contact with clubs to confirm arrangements for the rescheduling of games.

Wanderers - weather permitting - will resume next Saturday with a friendly match at Fort Matilda against premiership two side Hillhead/Jordanhill, then follow that on 18 February with their most difficult task of the season, away at Duffus Park against table-toppers Howe of Fife.

The locals will complete their February programme with the rearranged league game against Lasswade at Fort Matilda on 25 February.

Then, one week later, they will host Kirkcaldy once more at the Fort, their final home game of the season, which has been set for 24 March against Haddington

Vice president McDougall said: "Clearly we are at the mercy of the weather, but it's good to finally get some clarity on the forthcoming fixtures and it gives the players and coaches the opportunity to prepare fully for the challenge ahead.

"We have an exciting run-in towards the end of the season and in particular, we have three massive home games against Lasswade, Kirkcaldy and Haddington to look forward to."

Wanderers will also travel to Dalziel on 17 March, although the date for the postponed match at Ardrossan has still to be confirmed.

A full list of updated fixtures, match reports and Wanderers news will appear on the club website in due course and spectators are urged to check online for kick-off times and news of any further cancellations.
