A YOUNG film-maker has got his cameras rolling again - after being knocked down by a car.

Fraser Coull, 22, and two of his assistants, ended up with broken bones after being hit by a speeding car in Glasgow late last year.

Fraser and his crew were shooting promotional material to persuade investors to part with cash for his low-budget movie 'The Journey' when the accident happened.

And Fraser said his determination to complete his film this year drove him to get back on his feet quickly.

Fraser, of Langbank, told the Tele: `I was left with a broken arm and leg after the accident, but when I was able to walk on crutches I filmed the remaining promotional material in my back garden.` Parts of 'The Journey' will be filmed in Inverclyde - and the public is being invited to help raise enough cash to make it. Filming is due to start on 24 June and should be completed by September, and Fraser hopes his movie will be seen at next year's Cannes Film Festival and then at cinemas across the country.

Fraser - the writer, director and producer - is a former TV operations and productions student who now runs his own video production company called 'Silly Wee Films'.

He wrote the script for 'The Journey' in 14 days, after getting the idea from a film magazine photo of a Japanese girl holding a sword.

He has made three short films, but 'The Journey' will be his first feature. The 90-minute story follows the adventures of three sword fighters as they travel to a secret sword-fighting tournament set in present-day Scotland.

So far, £6,000 has been raised to make the film, but another £14,000 is needed. Fraser and his team are trying to raise the extra cash from businesses and the general public.

A fundraising party will be held on 1 June in the Soundhaus in Glasgow, including a raffle offering walk-on parts in the film and other prizes.Visit www.makethejourney.co.uk for tickets.

Fraser added: `The actors include Chick Allan from the swordfighting group Clan Ranald, who's been in Braveheart, Gladiator and King Arthur. Other actors approached include Billy Connolly, Alan Cumming, Ewan McGregor and Billy Boyd.

`Classical violinist Nicola Benedetti has also been approached to provide music.`
