KILMACOLM"S Alison Marr was a double winner at the Bank of Scotland National Junior Badminton Championships.
Almost 200 of Scotland"s top juniors converged on Meadowbank Sports Centre over the weekend to compete in the event - and local players were prominent.
At under-23 level Marr won both the women"s singles and the mixed doubles, in which she partnered Peter Hockey of Edinburgh She was also runner-up in the women"s doubles, partnering Victoria Wan of Erskine.
At under-17 level Rebekka Findlay and Robyn Glen - both Erskine - reached the semi-finals of the girls" singles, while Greenock"s Kirsty McGlynn reached the semis of the girls" doubles, partnering Kirsty Gilmour of Bothwell.
BADMINTONscotland Chief Executive Anne Smillie said: 'This is the first Bank of Scotland National Junior Championships of the year and it offered a great chance to see some of the emerging talent in Scotland.
'Judging by the standard of play this weekend, the future for badminton in Scotland is very bright. My congratulations go to all the winners.' The last national championships of the season will take place next month, when the Bank of Scotland U-11 National Championships get under way at Scotstoun on 30 May.
