GOUROCK'S 103-year-old outdoor swimming pool was officially re-opened on Saturday after a 1.8 million refurbishment.
The opening was performed by Paralympic swimming champion Margaret McEleny of Greenock, who said a lot of her training was done in the pool.
Margaret, who won three gold, five silver and seven bronze medals at Paralympic Games in Barcelona, Atlanta, Sydney and Athens, said: "I'm delighted to see Gourock Pool looking better than ever."
A day of family festivities was held to celebrate the opening, where Inverclyde's education and communities convener, Councillor Terry Loughran, said: "The pool is now fit for another hundred years and will be a major attraction for local people and visitors."
There will be a further report and more pictures in Wednesday's Tele.
