MINI eco warriors at Lady Alice Primary are leading the way in recycling.
The school now has five bins in the canteen which are used by the pupils to recycle food waste.
Lynne Cowan, principal teacher at the school, told the Telegraph that the latest green drive is working very well.
She said: “We got the bins after the summer holidays and it has been really successful as the children are embracing it and some of the older pupils are responsible for helping the wee ones use the bins.
“The dinner ladies have even commented on how well it’s working.” The school achieved its fifth eco flag at the end of last year and also has an eco committee with representatives from every class in the school.
