AN ‘out of control’ thug who jumped onto a teenage girl’s car and kicked in the windscreen has been jailed for almost a year.

Ross Morgan forced the 19-year-old to make an emergency stop after stepping in front of her car in Tarbet Street, Gourock.

He then launched himself onto the Mazda 323, repeatedly kicking the windscreen until it shattered, before walking off and threatening to stab the woman and her 20-year-old female passenger.

Violent Morgan, 20, was on FOUR bail orders at the time of the offence on 20 April and is already serving a two year sentence for a knife offence.

The brute appeared in handcuffs from custody at Greenock Sheriff Court after admitting a total of EIGHT charges.

Depute fiscal John Penman said: “The women observed the accused walking on the footpath towards Greenock.

“As she drove closer to the accused he pointed at them and shouted an abusive remark.

“She was alarmed when he then stepped onto the road, causing her to brake.

“She put the vehicle in reverse gear but the accused jumped onto the bonnet and started kicking the windscreen repeatedly and it caved in.

“The accused jumped off the bonnet and walked away. He was then heard to say ‘shut it or I’m gonna stab you’.” The woman were left badly shaken but unhurt by the incident.

When dangerous Morgan was arrested later that day at his family home in Cove Road he struggled violently and threatened officers with despicable taunts.

Morgan told them: “I’m going to rape and burn your weans and wives.” Arriving at Greenock police office he then assaulted a police sergeant and attempted to bite him.

Sheriff Derek Hamilton told Morgan: “It must have been particularly frightening for those two young girls, kicking the windscreen with such force that gave way.” In June, Morgan, an inmate at Polmont Young Offenders Institute, was sentenced to two years in jail for taking a knife into Greenock Sheriff Court.

In August he stood trial for the alleged robbery of a Gourock newsagent in September last year.

A jury found the charge not proven.

During the latest case, Morgan pled not guilty to two charges of police assault at Greenock Sheriff Court on 17 April where it was alleged he had spat on one officer and headbutted another.

He pled guilty to breaching a court order to stay at home on 25 May.

Sheriff Hamilton told him: “It seems that throughout 2012 and 2013 you were completely out of control.”
