THE case against the man accused of murdering Greenock teenager Elaine Doyle will begin at the High Court next month.
John Docherty, 49, was yesterday indicted to appear at the High Court in Glasgow on 10 February.
The Greenock man has been charged with the murder of the schoolgirl, whose body was found in a lane off Ardgowan Street, less than 50 yards from her home.
He is alleged to have killed Elaine, 16, on 2 June 1986.
This is the first indictment to be served following an investigation by the Cold Case Unit, set up by the Crown Office in 2011.
The Tele has exclusively revealed how high profile QC Donald Findlay will represent Docherty – whose bail address is protected by a contempt of court order – during the case.
