BIG-HEARTED trekkers are being urged to aim high in aid of a children’s charity.

Inverclyde Leisure is organising a trio of hill treks this year to help Dreams Come True.

The national charity has a local group in Inverclyde which aims to fulfil the dreams of seriously and terminally ill children.

Climbers can take part in one or all of the challenges, which include Ben Lomond on 31 May, Ben Dorain on 5 July and Ben Nevis on 30 August.

Organiser Lauren O’Donnell from Inverclyde Leisure said: “We are aware that these treks appeal to a considerable number of our members and they prove to be great fun experiences. We are very glad to be able to organise three more and to help this very worthwhile children’s charity.” Volunteers will leave from Greenock and the cost is £20 per climb or £50 for all three and everyone is encouraged to get sponsored for the treks.

Chris Jewell from Dreams Come True added: “We are very grateful to Inverclyde Leisure for organising these fundraising treks for us and as one who has climbed Ben Lomond and Ben Nevis in 2012 I can add that while challenging, they are great fun and bring with them a real sense of achievement. We look forward to being able to make more dreams come true as a result of these events’ For more information call Lauren O’Donnell at Inverclyde Leisure’s Gourock Fitness Gym on 715777 or email lauren.o’donnell@inverclyde.gov.uk For further details on the charity visit www.dreamscometrue.uk.com
