ALMOST 60 flats in five Greenock tenement blocks are set to be torn down.
The properties in Peat Road, Kenilworth Crescent and Hole Farm are due for demolition before the end of the year, owners River Clyde Homes have confirmed.
Security fences have been put up around the flats to prevent any more vandalism and to allow for preparatory works to be carried out.
RCH is awaiting connections such as electricity and gas to be completely disconnected before contractors are allowed to move in and begin tearing down the buildings.
Numbers 6, 8, 10 and 12 Peat Road — two blocks of 24 flats — will be demolished along with another 24 at 135 and 137 Kenilworth Crescent plus one unit of 10 flats at Hole Farm Road.
