Jim Duffy’s men found themselves trailing 3-1 with just quarter of an hour left to play but scored three goals in a breathtaking six-minute spell to dramatically turn the game on its head.
They got off to the worst possible start by conceding within three minutes through a Sandy Cunningham header.
Despite drawing level when Joe McKee found the net with a fine strike on 28 minutes, Binos right-back Ryan McGeachie scored two minutes later to restore the hosts’ lead.
And when Angus Beith’s whipped free-kick was missed by everyone and crept inside the left-hand post on the hour, there seemed no way back for a beleaguered Ton side However, Declan McManus scored in typical rapier style from out of nowhere on 75 minutes to light a fire under the visitors.
They levelled four minutes later through half-time sub Mark Russell, who fired in a low drive that deflected off Stirling centre-half Craig Wedderburn and flew high into the net.
And an astonishing comeback was made complete on 81 minutes when McManus whipped a low shot into the bottom right-corner to spark ecstatic celebrations.
McManus was presented with an opportunity to claim a hat-trick in stoppage time after home goalkeeper Callum Reidford hauled back Joe McKee inside the box.
A staggering afternoon was rounded off in scarcely believable fashion deep into stoppage time as Stirling striker Lewis Coult replaced Reidford between the sticks and saved the spot-kick.
The three points was all that mattered, though, and sees Ton end a run of four games without a win and moves them to within two points of leaders Stranraer, who lost at home to Stenhousemuir.
