POLICE were called to a break-in at a Greenock school after an intruder set off the building’s alarm.
Someone gained access to the decanted Ardgowan Primary in Larkfield’s Westmorland Road between 9.30 and 10.30pm on Sunday.
Nothing was taken and police say there does not appear to be any damage.
The culprit forced open a rear fire door of the former Sacred Heart Primary building before going to the head teacher’s office where they removed a set of keys which were later found scattered around the playground.
They then deliberately set off the fire alarm, which alerted the authorities, before fleeing.
Any witnesses are asked to call police on 101.
