THOUGHTFUL staff and customers at a Port shop dug deep into their pockets to help people with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
The Co-op in Dubbs Road handed over a cheque for £1,200 to Ardgowan Hospice after holding bucket collections, a second hand book sale, raffle and a home baking event.
Team manager Gary Watt thanked everyone for donating money to such a great cause and gave special thanks to his colleague Shannon Patton.
He said: “Shannon arranged an in-store bake sale, she did it off her own back and I think that raised about £300.
“I also asked customers to donate any second hand books and then held a book sale that raised about £700.
“We also have collection buckets which helped to raise money.
“I’d like to thank the customers for their generosity.”
