A PORT Glasgow couple who won a battle with a telecoms company over their phone line have thanked the Tele after they were reconnected.
James Docherty, pictured, and his wife Phyllis were wrongly cut off by Talk Talk and sent demand letters instructing them to pay £200 for cancelling their contract.
But the couple had never asked to leave and it later emerged a crossed line at the exchange box had caused all the problems.
James said: “It would never have been sorted out if the Tele had not intervened.
“I can’t thank the Tele enough.
“We had spent hours on the phone to Talk Talk to explain that we had never cancelled our contract but no matter who we spoke to and how many times we tried to explain another letter would come telling us that we were leaving — it was a nightmare.
“But within hours of the Tele getting in touch with Talk Talk, the chief executive’s office was on the phone to sort it all out.”
