A LUCKY driver had a miracle escape after a car smashed through a sea barrier at Gourock and came to a halt just short of plunging into the River Clyde.
The Vauxhall Corsa was left dangling precariously over the edge of the promenade at the town’s Cove Road on Saturday.
One stunned onlooker said: “I don’t know what happened but whoever was driving that car is one very lucky person. The drop is several feet down and I don’t think there is any doubt that this could have ended in tragedy.”
