RIVER Clyde crossing operator Argyll Ferries has withdrawn services due to strong winds.

Earlier today they put a one vessel service in place but now the timetable has been pulled completely. Gusts of around 50mph have been recorded and the service has had to be suspended.

Argyll say the situation will be reviewed at 3pm.

There is also disruption on CalMac's Gourock-Rothesay route, with the 1.15pm from Gourock and 1.25pm from Rothesay both off due to a 'deterioration in weather'.

A review will take place at 3pm to see if services can recommence then.
