CALMAC staff volunteered to keep the coast clear during a beach clean-up.
A litter picking team spent a weekend at the popular beauty spot Lunderston Bay.
By the end of their shift ,the eight employees had picked up 50 kgs of rubbish as part of the Beachwatch campaign.
Greenock worker Kimberley Stevens, from the ferry operator’s travel trade department, led the operation.
She said: “This was the second beach clean-up we have carried out here this year, and it’s disappointing that we collected the same amount of rubbish as we did back in July.”
Kimberley signed up for the Marine Conservation Society after becoming increasingly concerned about the amount of litter blighting the shoreline.
She added: “I am passionate about keeping our beaches clean and the more we can do to highlight to people the need to take their rubbish home, the less we would need to hold these clean-ups."
Calmac would like to thank all those involved and Clyde Muirshiel Park Ranger Mike Holcombe for supplying safety equipment.
