A CRASH victim had to be cut from his car and rushed to hospital with suspected spinal injuries following a two-vehicle smash in Greenock last night.
The man is understood to have been taken to Inverclyde Royal following the collision on Inverkip Road at its junction with Bow Road around 4.40pm.
The smash caused traffic congestion, with the road closed until the scene was cleared around 5.40pm.
Greenock police have confirmed this morning that a woman has been charged with road traffic offences as a result of the incident.
Sergeant Laura Stewart said: “A male taxi driver was cut from his vehicle and taken to IRH with non life threatening injuries. He sustained suspected spinal injuries.
“The female driver of the other car involved, a Seat Ibiza, who was uninjured, has been reported for various road traffic offences and is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court next week on an undertaking.”
