A GREENOCK man was found in the street with 'horrific' injuries following a violent attack in the early hours of this morning.
The 25-year-old was set up on in the Bow Farm area and somehow made his way to Nicolson Street, where he was discovered.
He was rushed to Inverclyde Royal Hospital and will undergo surgery on his arm.
Detective Constable Stuart Young said: "He has an horrific injury to his arm which will require surgery. He has clearly been struck with a sharp object.
"The assault took place in the Bow Farm area. He made his way to Nicolson Street where he was found. A householder phoned an ambulance."
He added: "We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the assault to get in touch."
