MAINTENANCE work has started on the entrance at Greenock Cemetery.
The Tele revealed last month that Inverclyde Council was set to improve the gates, pillars and wall, and workers have since been out at the facility.
The cemetery and its gates are category ‘B’ listed, so the work required special permission.
It is expected to last around five weeks and will bring the gates back to their original colour.
The walls will also be attended to and repainted.
