A BEAUTY therapist has ‘nailed it’ after being shortlisted for a top award.

Leanne Templeton, who set up her own business in her son’s nursery while she was on maternity leave, is in the running for a Scottish Hair and Beauty award after being nominated by her clients.

The 34-year-old, who runs her business ‘Leanne Templeton Beauty’ from her home in Inverkip, says she’s thrilled to be recognised in this way.

She said: “I’m over the moon to have been shortlisted for the ‘Best Beauty Salon’ in the south west category.

“I’m in the running due to my wonderful clients believing in and rating my work, which just makes this even better in my eyes.

“I’m in the business because I love helping people and I believe every beauty treatment goes some way to giving people a little confidence boost - something we all need in our lives from time to time.”

Leanne, who is mum to her 14-month-old son Arran and is expecting her second child, attended James Watt College in Greenock where she achieved an HND in beauty therapy.

She says her son inspired her to set up her own business.
Leanne, who is married to Ross, said: “I work in Yuu Beauty, a salon in Glasgow.

“I love the girls I work with there but after having my son, I decided to set up at home as it gives me more flexibility.

“But I still work for two days in Glasgow.”

Leanne, who lives in Aberdour Place, has worked hard to build up her business and specialises in make-up, lash lifts and tints, nails, massages, facials, waxing and is also a master stylist.

She is now looking forward to attending the glittering awards bash at Crowne Plaza in Glasgow on Sunday December 3.
