GREENOCK telly star Martin Compston has become a bauble-head by joining other celebrities in a pre-Christmas push to raise vital funds for the Beatson Cancer Charity.
The Line of Duty actor swapped the camera for a pen and paper to design his very own Beatson Bauble which has now been transformed into a giant four-foot tall decoration.
Martin said: “Cancer in some way affects each and every one of us. At this time of year it can hurt that little bit more with loved ones no longer with us to celebrate Christmas.
“With this brilliant campaign, Beatson is using this time of year with the colour and joy it can bring to raise awareness and funds to continue taking the fight to cancer in the west of Scotland.”
Each Beatson Bauble — now on public display — has their own collection boxes for donations and Christmas shoppers are being encouraged to share pictures of the larger-than-life decorations on social media using the hashtag #BeatsonBauble.
Other famous personalities who have taken part in the fundraising drive include presenter Lorraine Kelly, Games of Thrones star Kate Dickie, musician KT Tunstall and Jane McCarry, who plays Isa in Still Game.
Martin’s football inspired Beatson Bauble is on display at the Oak Mall.
