HIT Inverclyde ceilidh band Reely Jiggered are preparing for their most unusual gig to date — in the Pakistani capital Islamabad.
Gourock sisters Alison and Fiona McNeill and cousin Scott McLean have performed all over the world and on live TV and radio.
But the trio are facing one of their most bizarre bookings to date next month when they jet out to play at a Burns’ supper in Pakistan.
Alison said: “We’ve been asked to go out to Islamabad to play for the High Commissioner.
“We did a gig a few years ago at home and a woman who was there remembered us.
“She’s arranging a Burns’ supper in Islamabad and asked us to perform in January.
“It’s definitely something a bit different.”
Alison and Fiona, who perform as duo The McNeill Sisters, are fresh from performing in the Scottish Parliament last month at the 13th annual Festival of Politics.
But the pair are now warming up for something completely different.
Alison said: “We’ve been to places like Mexico and Japan and played in Italy and Germany as well, but Islamabad is different — it’s quite out there.
“It will be fun though.
“It’ll be nice to experience a different culture.”
