IT was all white on the night for the Beacon's star-studded annual Christmas panto.

The Greenock theatre's fifth professional festive showpiece Snow White went down a storm with the capacity crowd on Saturday night.

Christmas wouldn't be the same without a sing-along and some slapstick and the Beacon show delivered once again with entertaining and energetic performances from the stellar cast headed up by Still Game duo Jane McCarry and Mark Cox, aka TV's Isa and Tam, who were back as the wicked 'Queen Sadista' and assistant the 'Duke of Bogston'.

Also returning for this year's performance was hugely-popular, riotous double-act of Jimmy Chisholm, as panto dame 'Nurse Mattie McBatty', and Lee Samuel, who plays 'her' daft but dear son 'Muddles'.

They were accompanied on stage by leading lady Stephanie Falls as 'Snow White' and her 'Prince Charming' Blair Robertson, who led toe-tapping renditions of everything from Motown classics to Meghan Trainor track 'Me Too', and not forgetting children's TV favourite Justin Fletcher as the magic mirror and a full set of dwarves.

The stars shone in front of a full house in what was a weekend of sell-outs.

The Beacon panto has enjoyed record-breaking crowds year-on-year since the first instalment in 2013.

This year's show is on course to surpass the near-15,000 who flocked through the doors of the waterfront venue 12 months ago - and it's easy to see why.

There were as many adults as children in the main hall to officially kick off their festive season and everyone was catered for with a mix of singing, dancing, comedy and audience interaction.

It's all that you'd want from a panto - and more.

Roll on next year.

*Snow White runs until Sunday December 31.
