THE Oak Mall has been given a welcome boost at the start of the new year — after a major retailer pledged its future and announced a major store revamp.
Argos is undergoing a complete refurbishment which will enable customers to order items via digital tablets.
The new look store will be relaunched on January 19.
A company spokesman said: “The new Argos store will offer thousands of popular products for immediate pickup.
“Twenty thousand products can also be ordered to collect in store within hours and 20,000 extra products can be ordered for home delivery.
“The store will have a bright, modern feel to it and we are sure customers are going to love it.”
There will also be a collection point where buyers can collect their eBay purchases.
Centre manager Claire Jefcoate says she is very pleased by the show of support from Argos and says it will be good for the Mall.
She said: “We are delighted.
“It shows investment in the Mall and retail confidence.
“I was informed Argos traded extremely well over the Christmas period.
“Argos is a long-standing retailer in the Oak Mall and they have an extremely good staff team.
“They are very communicative, friendly and have a good knowledge of products.
“The store has a reputation for excellent customer service.”
