BIG-HEARTED bank staff are urging customers to dig deep for a local charity.

Workers at Nationwide are supporting the work of Compassionate Inverclyde who help patients going home from hospital.

People can drop off donations all year round at the branch in West Blackhall Street.

The branch also acts as a drop-off point for he i58 Project to help with collections for the foodbank, toy bank, baby bank and uniform bank.

Kirsty Donnelly, customer representative, said: “We just want to let customers know about the drop-off facility all year round to help the five charities.

“Nationwide is very much committed to supporting these charities who are doing such good work in the local community.”

Kirsty has also come up with the idea of providing a bag of toiletries to include in Compassionate Inverclyde’s Back to Home boxes.

They also have a bookcase and any money made from the sale of books will go to both charities.
