POLICE are today investigating after a knife attack in the east end of Greenock.
A 19-year-old man was set upon in Weir Street some time between 7-9am on Saturday.
Detective Constable Paul Duffield of Greenock CID says it's believed a knife was used in the incident, which is being treated as a serious assault.
He told the Tele: "There was an altercation and the 19-year-old was seriously assaulted.
"We believe there was a knife involved.
"He was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital where he was treated for a number of injuries.
"We are appealing for any witnesses to contact Greenock police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
