A WOMAN has been found dead within a flat in the centre of Greenock.

Police say they were called to the property in Sir Michael Street at 12.20pm on Friday after a relative contacted them.

An ambulance also attended at the scene.

Officers confirmed that a body had been found and added that there are no suspicious circumstances.

Sergeant David Hill of Greenock police said: “A female was found within a flat in Sir Michael Street.

“It is being treated as a medical death.”
