POLICE have swooped on a cannabis farm in the Clune Park area of Port Glasgow.

The dramatic raid was carried out across 'multiple flats' in the town's Maxwell Street.

Officers pounced at the weekend and have remained at the scene over the last few days.

A large police presence was still visible yesterday outside the properties as investigations continue.

Forensics officers were combing the building with a number of police vehicles parked outside on the street.

One eyewitness told the Tele: "Police and forensic teams have been outside the flat close.

"We could see the forensics in white suits going into the building with their equipment.

"There were two police cars, a couple of unmarked cars and a scenes of crime van parked outside."

Sergeant Kayley Teasdale of Greenock Police Office says investigations are continuing.

She told the Telegraph: "Uniform police officers discovered a cannabis cultivation over the weekend at multiple flats in Maxwell Street.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
