A PAIR of local women flew the flag for Inverclyde during a visit to Brussels.
Glenda Horton, left, and Anne Willams were two of 15 members of the Scottish Women’s Convention (SWC) invited to the European Commission.
The visit was focused on gender equality.
The ladies say it was an experience they will treasure for the rest of their lives.
They said: “To have the unique experience of visiting the European Union buildings, along with the wonderful hospitality, was an amazing opportunity.
"Getting to hear first-hand the work that the EU is doing to promote and ensure gender equality around the world was extremely beneficial to the future work of the SWC.”
Their programme covered the five priority areas identified in the EU strategic engagement for gender equality.
These include equal pay for work of equal value and equal economic independence for men and women.
