THE spell of good weather Inverclyde has enjoyed is set to come to an abrupt end after a Met Office weather warning was issued.
A spell of ‘very windy’ conditions is expected tomorrow and gusts of 50 to 60mph are likely.
Forecasters say a spell of heavy rain will accompany the wind.
Conditions will begin to change from tonight, with the fine and settled recent weather giving way due to a deep area of low pressure.
The strongest winds will reach the Clyde coast during the early hours of Thursday.
Gusts could reach 70mph in some exposed locations.
Things will eventually settle down during Thursday afternoon.
The yellow warning – which covers 3am-3pm tomorrow - states there is a ‘small chance' of longer journey times or cancellations on local rail and ferry services.
