A LORRY driver was left trapped after his heavy goods vehicle overturned at a roundabout on the A8 in Port Glasgow.
The accident happened this afternoon around 4pm, at the roundabout closest to the waterfront near the entrance to Kingston Dock and the retail park.
The stricken lorry partially blocked the eastbound side of the dual carriageway as emergency services rushed straight to the scene.
Onlookers said the driver was freed from the cab and initially taken into a waiting ambulance for treatment.
One eyewitness on the scene said: "He didn't appear to be seriously injured."
The road remained opened but the lorry will still have to be recovered from the scene, with drivers warned to expect possible delays and disruption to their journeys as a result.
