A GREENOCK business owner says she is 'heartbroken' after her foot clinic was completely destroyed by flood water.

Tracey Gallacher, who owns Acorn Foot Practice in West Blackhall Street, was faced with a scene of devastation when she pulled up the shutters at her premises last Monday.

Water had poured in from through the ceiling from a property two flights up, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.

Part of the ceiling collapsed on top of her 'very expensive' specialist FootBalance machine.

Fotunately Tracey has been able to operate from a temporary treatment room within Black Angels Beauty Salon, directly across the street.

She hopes to re-open her clinic but says it could take eight weeks.

She said: "It's heartbreaking when you think about how much you've invested in your business.

"But thankfully my customers have been very understanding.

"I'm also eternally grateful to Kirsty at Black Angels as I've been able to move there.

"I'm just trying to make the best of a bad situation."

Tracey, who is covered by insurance, says it was a major shock to see the business she has worked hard to build up left under water.

She said: "The water didn't come from the flat above, it came from the flat above that.

"I opened the shutters to find my reception ceiling on the floor and on top of a very expensive piece of equipment.

"I do custom moulded insoles and it's the piece of equipment that allows me to do that.

"All the stock was damaged.

"All the flooring needs to come up as it's all buckled.

"The front to the back of the premises is completely soaked.

"It's major flooding and I only refurbished two years ago."

Despite the severity of the damage, Tracey, who rents the premises, remains hopeful that she will be able to return to the building soon.

She said: "I'm hoping to move back in six to eight weeks tops. The practice has to be dried out and then redecorated and I also need new equipment."

Tracey is keen to thank everyone for their support, especially her landlord.

She added: "My landlord has been an absolute angel."
