A TOUCH of the wild west came to Greenock's Branchton Community Centre at a special fun day.

The Branny Barn Dance had loads of attractions including a rodeo bull ride, face painting, owls and a clown to keep youngsters entertained.

The bash was held to mark the end of the community centre's summer playscheme.

Lorraine Daisley, centre administrator, also joined in the fun by donning a cowboy hat.

She said: "We held this free open day to celebrate with everyone who has spent the summer with us.

"We had 360 people come along and the atmosphere was brilliant.

"We had Hootenanny Owls, Gadsya who is the best face painter around and Heaney Disco.

"They were brilliant, they had the kids playing lots of games and we had best dancer competitions.

"We also had Forkeeps photo booth and the clown entertainer Pat Doogan."

There were games in the big hall prizes and there was also a visit from local police.

Everyone got a free hot dog, juice, popcorn and ice cream.

Lorraine said: "It was a good family day out.

"We ended the summer on a high."

Organisers want to thank Bookers for donating the hot dogs.
