A FUND to help a brave schoolgirl fight cancer has smashed through the £50,000 barrier.
The community, touched by the plight of Rosie Veronica Mitchell, has rallied round with a series of events to support her.
Rosie's 'Fighting Fund' now stands at £52,476.
The six-year-old is battling neuroblastoma for the third time and may need to go abroad for life-saving treatment.
Her parents Donna-Louise Hurrell and Ross Mitchell set up the campaign to give their daughter the best chance of recovery
The couple, who are also parents to Rosie's twin brothers Lucas and Dylan, live in Kingston Dock.
They told the Tele they have been overwhelmed by people's generosity and support.
Donna-Louise said: "It's fantastic - it feels like a bit of a milestone. There is still a long way to go but it gives us confidence to push on.
"People have been amazing and so generous, we are so grateful."
